Should I not be able to act with you as this potter, O house of Israel !, says the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel! (Jeremiah 18: 6)

The Potters - Adelaide Pollard, an itinerant preacher, desperate because it has not raised enough money to become a missionary in Africa. He overheard an elderly woman praying like this: "Indeed God, whatever God will do with our lives, do so, because thou hold our lives." Piece of prayer opens the heart of Adelaide and revive the meaning of surrender to God, the the owner lives. He then wrote hymns based on the woman's prayer. Later, though only briefly, he earned the opportunity to serve in Africa.
Jeremiah was desperate because when he preached the message of God, the Israelites actually refused and threatened him. God wanted Jeremiah to know who he is and what is His plan. And before Jeremiah, God describes Himself as the potter (potter), which are forming a pot (His people). As a potter, God has the right to do anything to pot him according to his desired.
God is the potter and we are the clay. Everyone who has this awareness will understand how he should live. As a good Father, He does allow us to express whatever our hearts desire Him. But presumably we can learn that we do not ask God to do something we think is good for us; but beg God to do something good by God for us. -SYS
God formed our life to be the best according to his policy
