Hundred Fold

Read: Matthew 19: 23-30

Every one that hath left houses, his brother or sister, or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. (Matthew 19:29)

Hundred Fold - News about the fraud doubling the money is no longer a new thing. Some people claim to be able to double the money five times. Surprisingly, despite a lot of people fooled, there are still new victims. A teacher, for example, lost 40 million rupiah tempted because herbalists offer to double his money with a certain ritual. The teacher was undergoing ritual according to the direction of the shaman, but to no avail. Rather than multiply, all the money disappeared taken away healer.

Jesus' promise more remarkable: His listeners will get a locker hundredfold and eternal life! Is it true? The promise of Jesus is talking about a treasure whose value far more valuable than treasures of the world. And the promise was given to those who dared to leave his home, his brothers, all his possessions, in order to follow Jesus. Not easy because follow Him means we lose everything and put Him first in our lives. This is where fulfillment occurs: instead of a multiplication of wealth in the world, but we are merging with God, source of blessing and source of eternal life (cf. Jn. 17: 3). Amazing, is not it?

Merging with God is the fulfillment of that promise. Jesus fulfilled when He died on the cross and re-unite our relationship with God. Is not God's grace is sufficient for us? When we are united with God, we experience peace, serenity, and joy unspeakable. -SYS
God's promise that for sure. When Jesus did unite us with God, His grace constantly overflowing in our lives.
