Reading the Bible in a Year:
Colossians 1-4
A married couple in South Africa lose their babies in hospital as a result of kidnapping. His mother always said, "I never gave hope, no, I can feel my daughter is out there, and he'll be home soon." He proved his hope that by celebrating his daughter's birthday every year. In 2014, seventeen years later, they managed to find the missing daughter. His hope manifests real!
The Lord Jesus described His return at the end of time like a master returning from a long trip. Servants who await his return is divided into two groups. The first, remain alert to carry out their responsibilities (v. 46). Second, careless and disoriented (vv. 48-49). One awaits in hope, the other in boredom. With God straightforward designate which groups are truly ready to welcome him.
Waiting in hope is only possible if we keep doing something that is closely related to what or who is awaited. Similar to the mother who still celebrate the birthday of the princess in spite of his absence. How wonderful if we wait for the coming of Jesus actually realized diligently and faithfully carry out the worship and ministry for him, because it proves how we believe he will really come. And how happy we are when it comes to pass real hope in the future! -Pad
Wait for the Lord to come back not by silence, but by continuing to work and serve.
