Reading the Bible in a Year:
2 Corinthians 9-13
Preparation Waiting The Savior - The Bible records that God loves Simeon and Anna longed for the coming of the Messiah and to provide safety for the Jews. In an age already twilight, they wait and be present in the temple, and gain the opportunity to meet face to face with the Messiah. Longing and loyalty they bear beautiful encounter with the Savior.
In the midst of the hustle and bustle of Christmas atmosphere, the preparation of various Christmas service, and the promotion in every corner of the center of the market, Advent or Christmas towards the waiting period may be blurred. Moment to welcome the birth of the Savior will only raise false joy because we lost the true meaning of Christmas.
During Advent, we should take the time specifically to reflect on the meaning of Christmas and also the meaning of His second coming later. Anticipation that accompanied earnest contemplation can help us to enjoy the encounter with the Savior.
Like Simeon and Anna were so faithfully waiting for him, we should, too. By Christmas like this, we can take the timeless quality of shady manner, attend a prayer meeting at the church, and also provide services for others around us. We can share the good news through Christmas Carol or visiting the elderly and children orphaned. Advent would evoke joy for us and bring blessing to others. -WAN
Advent fill with meaningful activities, bringing us towards Christmas full of joy.
