For I am convinced that the sufferings of this present time can not be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us (Romans 8:18)
Reading the Bible in a Year:
Genesis 31-33
Not Lament The Fate - A comedian telling jokes in the cafe and all the audience laugh. Moments later, he repeated the joke, but this time only a few people laugh. Five minutes later, he repeated the joke again, and no one is laughing. Then the comedian said, "If we did not laugh repeatedly for the same joke, then why do you keep crying for the same problem?"
Joseph repeatedly suffered similar problems. He experienced a persistent problem: is inserted into a well by his brothers and sold as a slave into Egypt. In Egypt, he was vilified by Potiphar's wife and put in jail. In prison, he was forgotten by the cupbearer who already notified the meaning of his dream. However, Joseph did not cry repeated lament his fate. At the end of the story, Joseph was appointed ruler of Egypt by Pharaoh. He said, indeed brothers confab which is evil, but God has them-rekakannya for good (Gen. 50:20).
According to the apostle Paul, suffering today can not be compared with the glory that will be revealed (Rom. 8:18). Mild suffering we now experience working on an eternal glory that exceeds everything (2 Cor. 4:17).
Are you currently being lament fate? Have the consolation of the Holy Spirit, so that does not dissolve in grief. The problem has the potential to make us wiser, mature, and strong. In the end, there will be glory behind the issue. -IN
