Fasting Properly

Matthew 6: 16-18

When you fast do not look somber as the hypocrites ... (Matthew 6: 16)

Fasting Properly - Are Christians allowed God to fast? Fasting has been practiced by Moses / Israelis and Jesus Christ, our Great Master (4th: 2). Fasting, taken from the Hebrew "Tsum" which means abstinence for all sorts of food. Whereas in the Greek "Nesteia" means, abstain from eating, which is voluntary. Thus fasting means: voluntarily leave the physical pleasure and humble themselves before God with spiritual intentions are searching for the truth of God.

Fasting is allowed to be done but must be with a correct destination. If it does not have a definite goal or objective, it is not the actual fasting, but only diet. Therefore ask yourself: "Am I doing it right fasting, and fasting know to what I do?" If fasting to take care of its own affairs let alone with a variety of arguments and disputes, then fasting is not desired by the Lord (Isaiah 58: 3- 4). But if it is done for God (Zechariah 7: 5); not to enjoy (6: 16); done with holiness (Joel 1: 1 4; 2: 14); made humbly (Nehemiah 9: 1; Psalm 135: 13); then we do the fasting properly, and the right to mental and physical blessing from God our Father in Heaven.

To fasted with clear objectives, whenever fasting done. Because in addition to the glory of God, fasting is done for us:

Receive power / strength of God (Matthew 17: 21).
Regardless of a difficulty (Esther 4: 16).
Beg forgiveness from God (Daniel 9: 3-6).
Assistance and help of God (2 Chronicles 20: 3-4, Ezra 8: 21-23).
For a mission / ministry, as Jesus (Matthew 4: 2).
Inspiration: God does not want evil when we are fasting.

Moment of Inspiration.
