Being in the Party of God

Read: Psalm 139: 17-24

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts; And see if wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! (Psalm 139: 23-24)

A year Bible reading:
Deuteronomy 11-13

Being in the Party of God - The Apostle Paul wrote, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Rom. 8:31). The psalmist wrote, "God is on my side. I will not fear "(Ps. 118: 6). However, Abraham Lincoln never uttered the words that appear contrary to it. At that time the United States was hit by the civil war between the North, who opposed slavery, and the South, which want to maintain slavery. One adviser Lincoln said that he was grateful that God is in the North. Lincoln replied, "Sir, I do not worry about whether God is on our side or not. I am worried that if we are on God's side or not. "

Is Lincoln one talking? It seems not. Inclusion of God-that He is on our side-is one side of the coin. With these words, Lincoln invites us introspective, contemplating the other side. Do we respond presence of God by following his path? What we plan in accordance with his will? Do our thoughts and actions in harmony with His truth?

Do not assume that God will always support all desires, plans, outlook, or our decision. Not impossible us the best plan is precisely contrary to the will of God. Let us imitate the psalmist prayed, "Search me, O God, and know my heart ... see if there be wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting" (Ps. 139: 23-24). -HPG

What is important is not only God is for us, but are we also in the part of God.
