United in Christ

Read: Ephesians 2: 11-22

For he is our peace, who has made both one and broken down the dividing wall of hostility. (Ephesians 2:14)

Reading the Bible in a Year:
1 Corinthians 5-9

The nation of Israel building a wall of separation between Jew and Gentile. Not only in worship at the temple, but also in everyday life. For Jews, Gentiles seen as class "uncircumcised", deserves to be called a "dog", and when he saw the Gentiles give birth, they would not help him. This tradition goes a long time, and until now still have an impact.

We are different from each other, but the difference should not be a wall of separation between us. In the past we were the ones who live without Christ, not like the chosen people of Israel, do not get a share in the promises of God, and our lives without God in this world (v. 12). But now in Christ, we receive the kingdom of God because the blood of Christ has made us close (v. 13). The closeness to Allah, and proximity to one another as fellow people of God. By Christ, both Jews and non-Jews alike gain access to God (v. 18).

If Christ has broken down the dividing wall, it is not feasible if we rebuild it. If God does not discriminate between men, why do we treat our fellow differently? Should we as believers are united in Christ, love one another and help each other in the burden (Gal. 6: 2). Rather than divide, let us celebrate our unity in Christ.-JAP

Unity in Christ to build faith, but the dividing wall into a stumbling block.
