But new wine must be stored in new wineskins. (Luke 5:38)
Reading the Bible in a Year:
Revelation 19-20
Changing Attitudes - When the new year approaching, many people draw up a resolution. Next year will do this or that. Will stop such and such. Nothing wrong with drafting a resolution. Who would not want to live better?
Before drawing up the resolution of the new year, we can weigh up the resolutions we make for this year. The extent to which we managed to run it? If successful, we should be grateful and proud. If not successful, we need not be discouraged. Keep drafting a resolution for next year. While drafting a resolution, try to find out, what makes the obstacles we have not successfully run the previous resolution. If you already know, look for ways to overcome them. It is very important. Because no matter how well our resolutions for the next year, all will end up the same if we do not overcome the existing obstacles.
It could be a barrier. But what is to blame for the situation? Better we see ourselves. Lest there attitudes and habits that become obstacles. Ahead of the new year, let us change attitudes and habits. Not just drafting a resolution. Because without change attitudes and habits, will never be a resolution. Parallel to the advice of Jesus to enter new wine into new pockets, duly celebrated the new year with new attitudes and habits. If the new year continues to be filled with old attitudes and habits, the novelty of it being "broken", our lives do not experience real progress. -OK S
Reluctance to change attitudes and habits is the source of the failure to run the annual resolution
