Acts 12: 1-19
The power of God in Preaching the Gospel - Neither of the book of Acts and other passages in the New Testament we gain an understanding of the norms or standards accepted the New Testament church. The first and foremost is that a church would be composed of those who formed the local community and united by the Holy Spirit, who diligently seek a personal relationship with God and the Lord Jesus Christ (13: 2; 16: 5; 20: 7 ), "So Peter was kept in prison. The situation seems very difficult, James had been killed, and Herod was charming Peter escorted by sixteen soldiers. But the early church life based on the belief that "the prayer of the righteous, when the confident prayer is powerful and effective" (James 5:16), and they pray for the situation Peter solemnly. Their prayer was granted immediately (vv. 6-17).
God wants His people gathered to raise prayer meaningful and sustainable, consider the words of Jesus, "My house shall be called a house of prayer" (Matt. 21:13). So, we can see some of the principles of how the early church faced persecution and suffering that is, a life of prayer, an intimate relationship with God, and tell the Gospel to all people. The power of God will be revealed when the gospel preached to everyone, as Paul said, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first of all the Jews, but also to the Greek. (Rom. 1:16).
"God will manifest His power when people believe tells us that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, then we will see a real act of God."
