Psalm 37: 35-40
Free from Violence - At one time, Indonesia synonymous with violence. That assessment is not only suggested by the Indonesian people themselves, but also by people of other countries. I am not sure whether the impressions were still there or has been decaying. Much earlier, when I was in elementary school and high school, often heard praise for the Indonesian people are welcoming, gentle and smiling.
Is the mandate given by God to Adam to master (read: managing the well-being on) the earth becomes faded crushed progress of human civilization? Indeed, primitive behavior has been very abandoned, especially in big cities. But violence continues to roll and crush everything in front of him. Although the shape, pattern, and a surface that was slightly different even look very spiritual.
Pride in personal views are not careful can lead to violence that sometimes unintentional / felt. Personal faith in the truth that is causing the arrogance that leads to wickedness. The psalmist reminds us that pride and wickedness will soon disappear, can not last long. We've often seen. We do not want to take part in it.
The psalmist as if to say: "Look at the people who are honest and sincere, they would bring peace; and behold, they would have a good future, because they bring peace. "Peace can be realized with sincerity and honesty. Sincerity and honesty will bring softness. Softness will bring a sense of peace. How happy the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God (Matthew 5: 9). Are we happy? Do we deserve to be called children of God?
