Pray For Innocents

"I thought:" I want to take care of myself, lest I sinned ... "

Psalm 39: 1-14

Previously we learn from the Psalms how sin affects the whole body and his life. Consciousness of sin which make heavy suffering in his life makes the Psalmist thought to keep himself in order not to sin (verses 2-4). Not only aware of the consequences of sin, but David's trying to keep himself in order not to sin. He tried to hold his mouth and tongue to be silent before the wicked. Is the effort and the strength of David successfully? Of expression does not seem to be raised to God. In the next paragraph David convey a request to God to notify death and age limits. Demand is very basic because it realized who he was and his life is in His sovereignty (verses 5-14).

From prayer we learn why David asked God to tell his age limit. First David admits that life and death are in God's sovereignty. Both he understands who he is with his power can not control her life if not God himself enabled. Third to know the limits of his life in this world just like the shadow of a very short and just ride while in this world, it is definitely more dependent on the owner's life which is God's own life.

When we understand God's truth that in this world life is very short, we have to keep the heart that is the source of our life. Keeping the heart means keeping our life continues to be in God's truth. We can say that life is short and of our life radiates God's truth so that others can enjoy and experience it before we leave this world (Prov 4:23). David Prayer certainly be our prayer as well that this temporal life is not in vain because sin but meaningful for others.

Inspiration: Remember the age limit our life is short, life on earth is not the purpose of our lives forever.

Moment of Inspiration.
