John Newton, his works, in the form of songs, has been a blessing for many people. One of them is the song Amazing Grace is very popular in the ears of Christians of all ages. It is difficult to believe if initially he was a blasphemer and a great villain, bad reputation, his indecent and also likes to party like crazy. But life as a sailor who disbelieve not make it disposed of God. What makes John Newton believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Starting from 1736, when John was 11 years old, he first became a sailor, he was very rude and morally depraved. As a sailor, he is familiar with storms and waves. But one time, God allowed John powerless against life-threatening storm. The Greyhound was driving the ship were beaten storms in the north Atlantic. Kain ship was torn and leaking hull. In weariness and resignation, John remembered his mother who always gave him a Bible study. Automatically, John reminded of the power of God which is believed by his mother and he began to regret his sins. God works when it is to stop a sudden storm and they survived to enter the port of Liverpool with a heavily damaged ship. Since the stressful events that John is seriously thinking about his faith, and believe that salvation occurs in the middle of the sea was a "grace (Grace In Central Storm) astonishing" of God. That's why the song Amazing Grace was born from his experience.
John took the decision to repent and surrender their lives to Christ. Though he still continued his profession as a sailor and slave trader, John attempts to change direction more real life, John has found a new direction in her life. He began scheduling Bible study, prayer and reading Christian books. He also strives to be an example for the sailors.
Inspiration: How much grace that you have experienced in your life, but you do not come to Christ. Today Grace is coming to you, believe in Christ, then you will be saved.
