Acts 5: 7-11
Motivation to Make a Difference - Motivation to do something for the Lord makes us a valuable service or garbage in the eyes of God. Ananias and Sapphira apparently have agreed to serve the Lord by selling the land to be dedicated to God. People will really appreciate and commend them as a generous person. But in this story they do not realize that a little lie reveals the wrong motivation, sacrifice, give as to the Lord,
but it turns out to seek praise. An act of service but with the motivation centered on yourself. God punish them and this is a warning to us all.
Jesus many times to teach us to serve with a pure heart. For example in terms of giving, one should not give the right hand what the left hand know, do not give meaning to seek the praise of man (Matthew 6: 3). God also taught if we are fasting, oiled head, it means that we look fresh and neat, do not look tired and weak because of fasting and the views of others. God says if we do something and
praised others, we've got his reward. There will be no more reward in heaven. That is what we do not have eternal value.
At our age, there are many ways that we can do to make our services known by others. It's not a thing wrong. But be careful, before the 'show' what you do, check your motivation. Whether it is for the consumption of prayer, so that people pray or to be the announcement that praise? The difference is very thin, we must be careful. Lest we not aware of having received wages here when there is in the world and what we are doing so is worth mortal.
Inspiration: Man looks at appearances, the Lord looks at the heart.
Moment of Inspiration.
