, , , Even their servants bare rule over the people. But I did not do so because of the fear of God. (Nehemiah 5: 15)
Fear of the Lord - Fitting for today's leaders learn from Nehemiah, how he did his responsibilities with devotion. During the 12 years of Nehemiah served as regent, he did not take his rights. He realized that the position was given to him to help the people on the bottom, rather than taking the opportunity to look for their own advantage.
Nehemiah desire to be a leader begins with a concern for the state of his city. He then "discuss" with God. Nehemiah boldly appealed to the king who was their occupiers, to take the initiative to build cities that have become ruins. All need to build even he requested.
When someone tried to scare frighten, ridicule, even threatening his safety, Nehemiah was not afraid, but remain vigilant. His determination is not based on the conviction that haphazard, but with common sense and a belief in the truth of God. Even when someone claiming to be a prophetess though, Nehemiah can identify it as a prophetess bribed by enemies.
Nehemiah was not tempted by what has been done by the previous regent. Predecessor by arbitrarily taxing of the people, and even search for great levies to the satisfaction of eating and drinking with his group. Although Nehemiah knew exactly what made its predecessors, he did not want to come along. He would prefer not to do it even more than that, he did not take up their rights, because Nehemiah feared God ('15).
Let us seek the welfare of our lives to seeking the welfare of the people that are around us. Our well-being can not be pursued merely pleaded pray to God. Nehemiah pleaded welfare herself by doing things that make society prosperous ('19).
