Reading the Bible in a Year:
Genesis 22-24
Happy in Suffering - Richard Wurmbrand was pastor from Romania. He spent fourteen years in prison as a result of serving in the underground church. Although repeatedly beaten, beaten every day, and for months did not see the sun, did not slacken his spirit to preach the Gospel. Beautiful expression reads, "Prison is not an obstacle for the useful life of a Christian." Now, the prison where he was tortured has been a place of worship. Richard prove that the sufferings of God's truth to them. Who knows what will happen later date if Richard blaspheme current difficult times it. Now he can smile because his loyalty was not in vain.
Long before Richard, believers have experienced various persecutions. Yes, believers do not have to wonder if they resisted because of their faith. Peter warned, "Do not be surprised at the fiery trial which is to test." He continued, "Because it is still glad and happy in suffering for the name of Christ."
The fact that not all believers understand these words and can practice it. Why? Only those who truly know God well who will be empowered through it. They will rejoice and be happy in the persecution though. They know and believe that in all things God works for good for them. In the suffering they continue to glorify God. What about us? -PRB
Suffering because of the truth that we experience is a gift that actually we should be grateful.
