On December 20, 1989, endorsed the United Nations Convention on Rights of the Child and enforce international law on 2 September 1990. This Convention is necessary because after the child is still vulnerable to the wrong treatment, is still dependent on adults, and is experiencing a period of growth and development. One of the children's rights set forth therein is the right not to be treated in a discriminatory manner.

Jacob loves Joseph, a child born in his old age. The amount of Jacob's love for Joseph made it a treat Joseph preferentially. For example, he presented a very beautiful robe Joseph. This preferential treatment is not given Jacob to his children the other. Consequently arise hatred and their anger against Joseph (v. 4). This certainly does not lead to good relations between the two brothers, plus Jacob seemed to let this situation happen (v. 11). Later they intended to kill Joseph and later sold as a slave.

Parents sometimes stuck to treat children favoritism. There are children who cherished more than other siblings. Through learning the story of Joseph, we learn to treat children fairly. Every child is special and, therefore, deserve to be treated in a special way too. Parents need to learn to give love in a fair and reasonable so as not to cause envy and hatred that can ruin a relationship between brothers .-AAS
