In 1999, Sweden enacted a law that radical about prostitution. Are considered as perpetrators of crime are no longer people who prostitute themselves, but the people who buy the services of prostitutes. They argued, prostitution is a form of male violence against women and children. The result? In five years, prostitutes in Stockholm shrink two thirds and customers decreased to 80%, and in other cities do not even found again. Also, no more foreign women are brought to Sweden to serve as prostitutes.

The tart-women who are victims of male violence-should include groups who rejoice at the good news. Are not they include "people who are oppressed" it? Jesus alignments against them visible throughout his ministry. He defended and forgave a female victim of male violence (Jn. 8: 2-11). The woman who anointed Jesus in the house of Simon the Pharisee well known as a sinner, is estimated to former prostitutes who have received His forgiveness (Lk. 7: 36-50). Jesus also stated that the prostitutes will enter the kingdom of God ahead of those who boast their own righteousness (Matt. 21:31).

We are invited to treat the prostitutes with the love of Christ. Not as the dregs of society to be removed, but as victims of oppression that needs to be released. If enabled and equipped, we can help them through service and alignments us.-ARS
