Sluggard, go to the ant, consider its ways and be wise.
Solomon gave two words to give a contradiction, namely idlers and sage. Why not lazy and industrious? This is related to the purpose of Proverbs gives the concept of living and working right. Wise in the context of this verse is how the business of the ant which contains at least 3 concepts thinking:
Long-term thinking that he was thinking about what needs to be carefully prepared and owned at the time / season difficult.
No attempt was loud and clear / measurable so that he works with a target and a specific time period. He put together what should be provided appropriately.
There is a careful analysis to increase the odds, which is working at the right time to get the maximum results (working smart).
From this in mind it is clear that the lessons on the sluggard in Proverbs intended not merely to make him diligent, but to help him unload the mindset that makes a life without purpose, effort and a clear value. Nor merely Smart Worker as is often advocated at this time, but Wise Worker that deliver more value to the concept, process and results of the work rather than the achievement of a business.
The world of work, the ministry and the growth of personal spiritual maturity also requires effort that is not the origin of the road and without value. We live to inherit eternal values to colleagues, family and especially our descendants. If we pass on the concept of right and biblical life, certainly the value which we inherited is also high in the presence of God and glorify His name.
Being wise as Solomon's advice not just be a superior man, but the man who is able to give value to his world and provide opportunities all around us to see Christ guide us in our profession.
