Philadelphia was the city's youngest of seven cities mentioned in the book of revelation. The city built the King Attalus II in 150 BC, Attalus built the city to declare his love to Eumenes, his brother. Therefore, the city of Philadelphia, named from the word Greece language, meaning "a person who loves his brother".

Jesus to write to this church to praise their work, their obedience to the word of God, and their constancy to not deny the name of Christ in the suffering. He encourages them remain diligent and persevere in sufferings. God made a promise to those who faithfully that he will keep them from the greater difficulty that will occur.

Behold the Philadelphian Church is not the Church that is big and strong. The phrase "your strength, not how" indicates that the Philadelphian Church is a small church, both in terms of the number of members as well as other resources. God insists that he is the one who has the highest authority. So even though their power is limited, the God who will become their advocate.

The life of the Church in Philadelphia gave inspiration to the present life of the Church. The minority with a lot of pressure from the outside. However, the Church of God should have a commitment to adhering to the living Word of God in any situation. The suffering which comes precisely is a test of faith and obedience to God.Let's keep persevering and loyal to him in the midst of difficulties and suffering that we experience. — ENO
