Psalm 38: 1-23
In the next few chapters we can learn the Psalmist closeness with God through prayers were delivered. What are the circumstances disclosed by a sincere heart. Its proximity to God makes it very sensitive if there is a mistake because of ignorance committed against God. Seen from confession to God, do not punish me in your anger and do not chastise me in thy hot anger (verse 2).
Consciousness of sin and consequently revealed from complaints and moaning when he was sick. David knew that sin which caused his physical body filled with pain, there is no longer a part of his body healthy. This all resulted in a heavy burden of spending power and strength. From the heart sick because of sin will have an impact on the body and spirit of life. As the Scripture says heartache demoralizing, a crushed spirit dries the bones (Prov. 15: 13b; 17: 22b). The psalmist shows that sin not only affects the physical and spiritual but his whole life. Should act as God's helping to determine the root cause. David in his prayer he asked for help to God in order not to leave and to distance himself (verses 22-23).
From David we learn to always be sensitive and make sure the state of our hearts before Him before it spread more severe in our body. Need to be wary of many severe illnesses starts from our hearts that are contrary to God's will. So immediately dealt with God if there is bitterness, envy, pride, anxiety, and many more are stored hearts with prayer. Take time to be silent before God. Acknowledging what we keep in our hearts in order to be cleaned and freed of all the things that rob joy to our hearts. God has promised to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1: 9). God will restore and give new heart to glorify Him.
Inspiration: God knows the state of our hearts, so ungkapkanlah him what we want.
