James 3:13 - 4: 1-4
Excitement occurred extraordinary prayer activity (pdo, the prayer tower, prayer seminars, etc.). This should have a positive impact to the lives of believers, the family and the church / ministry. But what happened indicates otherwise. Such as the tendency of God's children is easy to abandon faith just because a spouse, divorce rampant Christian family, and ironically the many disputes between the servants of God affecting the church splits. Is there something wrong with the frenetic activity of prayer?
Let us learn from the letter of James. Core epistle of James is Faith in Action (2:17). Prayer is one of the actions of the Faith. When we pray, James reminded that:
Pray with Heavenly Wisdom (3: 13-18). That is, our hearts and minds to be filled with purity, peace gesture, friendly, compassionate, impartial, and not hypocritical. Sometimes we do not realize when our minds and hearts to pray controlled by personal ambition or groups that actually comes from the wisdom of the world. The devil does not prevent us diligently pray but she subtly instill the wisdom of the world into our minds and hearts!
Do not misunderstand prayer (4: 1-4). That is, pray driven by lust. Not one of us pray to God to be successful both in business, family, and ministry, but unconsciously no hidden motivation is that we become a person / church / waitress were taken into account (considered great) when we succeed.
To realize what we're wrong motives / no? Namely to see our response. Whether when God answers prayer, we quickly became arrogant? And vice versa, when our prayers are not answered the Lord, Are we disappointed and became jealous, which is the root of contention / division? Is not the purpose of the Lord's prayer is that the unity of God's people, so many people came to believe? Congratulations to pray.
