The vine was used by Jesus to describe what our life and relationship with Him. In order to grow well, the vine requires conditions specific climate and soil. The vine also need careful treatment in order to provide the best quality fruit.
That is why God describes our life like a vine. Life conditions that we need to support our spiritual growth, in order to grow according to his purpose.
Our lives also require treatment in order to produce spiritual fruit quality, so that the fruits can be enjoyed by many people.
Through the book of John, chapter 15, there are two things we can take as a guide, so that we can grow according to God's plan.
1. Sincere cleared
"Every branch in me that bears no fruit, he takes away, and every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit." John 15: 2
Each vine grows, there will always be serviced by the owner. Dry leaves and twigs cut, so as not to interfere with its growth. Branch that bears fruit is cleaned of leaves that are not necessary, so that the fruit produced can grow well.
So it is with our lives, there are things that can interfere with our spiritual growth. It will even keep us from being able to produce good fruit.
Through creation after creation, God will cleanse our lives. Things were not pleased with the Word of God must be removed from the growth of our spiritual life. Therefore, we will bear the fruit of the spirit, which can be enjoyed by many people.
For that we must have a heart that is willing to be cleared by God. Let us not harden our hearts when it is in the process of cleaning. Problem after problem we face is a way for God to cleanse our lives. Let us learn to know, through a problem, which parts of our lives that God is clean.
Relax in our lives to be cleared by God, so that we can produce spiritual fruit which God wills.
2. Stay Close With God
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. "John 15: 4
Twigs attached to the vine will continue to get the nutrition they need. The nutrients that will support twigs still attached to the vine. As to the process of growth, nutrition will continue to be needed in order for the fruit to grow well.
Twigs that have been detached from the vine certainly will not get more nutrition. The branch will be dry and will not produce fruit again. Only dry twigs will be thrown into the fire and burned.
We have remained faithful to God. He just simply close we can keep growing and get a good spiritual food. And of course, we will produce spiritual fruit in our lives.
Read, meditate on the Word of God and pray every day will keep us attached to God. The Word of God will illuminate our lives and give us strength so that it can continue to grow in the truth.
If because of busy activity and our work so that we begin to neglect to read the Word of God and began to pray procrastinating, it can be ascertained that we begin to move away from God. Be careful with this situation, because we will not get the spiritual nourishment we need. This situation will make us spiritually dead and will not produce spiritual fruit which God wills.
"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." James 4: 8
Although the situation is not in our favor and conditions weakened, remain close to God, He will help us and give us strength. He even would lift us and give victory to victory in many problems and temptations. He will make our lives shine and radiate truth to everyone around us. We will bear the fruit of the spirit to be enjoyed by many people. Hallelujah!
"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him. I helped because my heart is full of joy, and with my song I thank Him.
The Lord is the strength of his people, and protects his anointed! "Psalm 28: 7-8
"The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.
Sound cheers and victory in the tents of the righteous: "The right hand of the LORD might perform,
powerful right hand of the Lord exalts, the right hand of the Lord might do! "
I will not die, but live, and I will proclaim what the Lord has done. "Psalm 118: 14
