Only conduct yourselves worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, when I come I see, and if I do not come, I hear that you stand firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel. (Philippians 1:27)
Reading the Bible in a Year:
Leviticus 11-13
Worthy of The Gospel - A father gives to his son the task to carve a piece of wood. To help the boy, the father gives an example of a piece of wood and told him to follow the piece of wood. And then the kid first wood cut by using the example. However, the boy then threw example of his father and use the results of the first piece to the second example of the piece of wood. The second piece of wood to wood chips a third, and so on. Once completed, how shocked he was because the last piece turns over a length of several centimeters from the example of his father's pieces of wood.
To the Philippians, the apostle Paul advised that their life worthy of the gospel of Christ. Certainly there was something that encouraged Paul so he gives warning and exhortation. Paul worrying if there is another gospel which was followed by the Philippians. If their lives were no longer make the gospel of Christ as a guide of life, of course their lives will shift or no longer compatible with the proper pattern.
The gospel of Christ is the only truth that we should follow. When we align our lives with the gospel or the word of God, we will live as Christ lived. What should we do, how we behave towards each other, it must be worthy of the Christ. Therefore, if we find life we start off, let's get back to the original pattern: the Gospel of Christ. -SYS
