When Christ, who is our life, appears later, you also will appear with Him in glory. (Colossians 3: 4)
Reading the Bible in a Year:
Genesis 4-6
Christ, Our Life! - Former NBA star Larry Bird, never forced to compete for one season because of a foot injury. He was tortured. A reporter asked how he felt during a stop of the basketball world and Bird admitted he had difficulty adjusting. He said, "Basketball is my life. I do not know what should I do if I do not play. "What is meant Bird with that statement? He meant to say that basketball (a game, practice, game, players) have seized the entire time and attention.
When Paul writes about "Christ, who is our life" (v. 4) to the Colossians, he stated that a follower of Christ should be centered and give full attention to the person of Christ. "Christ is our life" actually means that his person, his word, his life, is also becoming our life. Inseparable! Everything that has seized the whole time and our attention.
In whatever condition we are looking for the person of Christ more than any other. Our minds are adapted to His wisdom, our hearts with his presence, and our hands to His purpose. Wherever we go and whatever we do, we always say, "We are ambassadors for Christ" (2 Cor. 5:20). Our hearts are filled with the desire to act according to what He wills. Thus "Christ into our lives." -SYS
When the truth of his Word united in our lives, so Christ has become our life.
