Who Am I?

Read: Luke 18:9-14

I tell you this man returned home as the man who allowed God while others were not. Because whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. (Luke 18:14)

One Year Bible Reading:
Mark 1-3

Who Am I? - The parables of Jesus about the Pharisee and the publican so powerful her message and full of meaning. However, I am used to reading it without tying it with personal life. I put myself as a publican who was acceptable to God. However, when read it again one time, angst plagued. I feel I'm the real the Pharisees!

The Pharisees felt himself good, moral high. He is comparing ourselves to others and, thus, degrading them. As the book makes him feel worthy to pray without having to admit to keberdosaannya. With aplomb, he reported for his religious activities. The pride of his spiritual eyes so that he doesn't see how a sinner himself. In contrast, the publican was not only aware of his sins, he begged the mercy and forgiveness of God. And, he is justified by God.

When we don't realize our sinfulness, aren't we will look not the Pharisees of yesteryear? Hubris erode sensitivity we will sin. We are so much easier to denounce others, feel satisfied by our Ministry. Though praying to God, as we don't need him, though, surely we are not worthy to appear before him. We need the grace of sanctification by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, so that we have the courage of facing the throne of God in our prayer. Let us humble themselves before him, and let him own that elevates us by his grace! HEM

IF WE ELEVATE OURSELVES, WE WILL BE DESTROYED.
IF THE LORD EXALTS US, WHO CAN BE DEGRADING US?
