The Righteous Offerings

These are the weeks where our children started school. The grade requires additional stationery. The new entry typically requires a new school shoes, uniforms, and a new bag, even new money to go to school. All it needs certainly cost money, and it may cost you a bit. However, if today we can still breathe, we eat, work and worship God, then indeed we can see that the providence of God was there and while continuing to work in us. Is it right?

Necessities of life will always be there and this truth can not be denied. However, too focused to judge actions only make the world we do not see God and His work. Gifts and offerings to God and neighbor is one of our focus on him. He who does not see the size of our giving will take into account every gift that we give in his name. If God takes into account the poor widow with two small copper coins, would not He will also take into account the offerings that we provide on behalf of thanksgiving and love? If God still preserves the life of Elijah during the past three and a half years a widow in Zarephath, would he not also be able to preserve our lives and our families until the end?

We are children of God-not because of our good works but because of His grace. We also are the people of his true-not because we feel ourselves true, but because he has justified us. He is the God of the universe and our Father, so, still should we be concerned? He is our assurance that is not limited to this life only. All our needs today, tomorrow, and so has he guaranteed. Therefore, never stop giving.

Better is a little that the righteous than the abundance of many wicked; For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD sustains the righteous. Lord knows the days of the righteous, and their heritage will remain forever; they will not be ashamed at the time of the accident, and they shall be satisfied in the days of famine.

Psalm 37: 17-19
