Ecclesiastes 12: 1-6
Remember God in thy Youth - Solomon was the third king of Israel united kingdom, and he ruled for 40 years. Solomon was a king who is known most wise, having many concubines, child marriages with kings around Israel with a political agenda. He also is a rich king (1 Kings 9: 26-28, 10: 11-12, 2 Chronicles 8: 17-18, 9:21). Solomon who built the Temple, realize the dream of his father, David.
Solomon after he assumed leadership of being forgotten in God. His wives had dragged him into idolatry. He has double-minded. That is why after he died kingdom split into two. Judah in the south and Israel in the North. But in his old age he knew and wrote the book Ecclesiastes, he reminded the youth we remember God.
In chapter 12: 1 and 6 he cautioned, "Remember the creator God in your youth before the silver cord and the golden bowl is broken." Silver chain is allegory of human life is like a chain, and the golden bowl is like a treasure. Thank God give him long life, be able to write the book of Ecclesiastes and advise. Imagine if the short age. Just like most people when young, rely on the strength, power and passion. On the day of the Elderly in GPIB., The elderly present in worship, the pastor said in a sermon saying, "Our parents must be proud and happy, because we are now old and ever young, but young people now will not necessarily experience the old."
Inspiration: when young, do not rely on the power and wealth, Depend on God, because the future is a mystery. Use the best possible life for the glory of God.
Moment of Inspiration.
