2 Corinthians 11: 22-33
Following Christ - When returning from a service, we use a small boat, because it is only a means of transportation that exist, whereas a large passenger ship does not at any time go into that area. On the way propeller boat hit a reef and cause the engine died. We had to wait 2 hours on a boat and then be able to continue the journey. During the trip I pondered the story of the apostle Paul who also had been adrift on the high seas, had three times suffered shipwreck and much more.
In our reading is evident that since the conversion of the apostle Paul to follow the Lord, he is never free from suffering. Many trials and hardships that befell him in his ministry for Christ. But his determination to follow the Lord never fade. He never thought to look back or think to leave the Lord because of the severity of the suffering experienced. Instead he is increasingly keen to preach the gospel of the grace of God. In many ways he is doing to reach out as much as possible the soul to God. Among them wrote letters to the churches, visiting them, praying, etc.
Paul more toil ('23) because he knows there is an eternal reward awaits. The Apostle Paul diligently do the work God has given him. Since the dramatic encounter on the road to Damascus, he vigorously despite the danger threatening from various parties, both the Jews and non-Jews even from false brothers ('26). In the end Paul died in Rome by way beheaded. But the spiritual heritage he left behind was incredible. One of his spiritual son Timothy had advised him not to be afraid and ashamed to preach the gospel (2 Timothy 1: 7-8).
