If Not The Lord

Reading: Psalm 127
Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; if not the Lord who was guarding the city, futile guards guard. (Psalm 127: 1)

Have you ever thought, "If it was not my work, where can my family live?" Or "If it was not me who set it all, where there is work in the office that wrong?" Be careful with such thoughts because it is a form hidden vanity. When we think or say that we are actually exalt himself above God. We think we are the ones that make us a family or a company can survive. In fact, not so true.

Solomon warns us that in the song of pilgrimage which is then recorded as Psalm 127. The key phrase in the Psalms of Solomon are "Except the Lord ..." Yes, if it is not God who blesses us, no matter how hard our efforts will not make a family we survive. If not God bless our work, maybe an office or store or business that we manage has been folded from the first.

Today let us contemplate these words of Solomon, "Unless the Lord ..., futile ..." We can equip itself dots. This truth can be applied in different sides of our life, as in marriage, raising children, building relationships, and ministry in the church. If not God intervene, futile all our efforts, no matter how hard it is. Let this truth encourage us to continue to rely on the maintenance and sovereignty of God in all aspects of life us.-DP
