2 Corinthians 4: 8
Depressed But Not Desperate - Have you passed through a period of time where everything looks bleak? When it seems everything around you becomes tangled? When you expect phone does not ring for fear of bad news?
During that time, I am often reminded of this story:
Karl, a Norwegian fisherman, brought her two children fishing for one day. As darkness enveloped their efforts, even lighthouse quiet seaside suddenly extinguished by a lightning strike. Expectations seem to disappear.
But the other news is actually worse than what Karl know. Lightning also snatched his home and his house quickly burned by the fireball. So when Karl and her children finally reach the shore, exhausted, he was met by his wife with the bad news. Curiously, Karl does not seem to be affected, by despair over his wife. When he stroked his wife's face filled with tears with his hands rough, he said, "Do you understand dear? When a beacon goes off, the light on the horizon became my compass. The fire that burned our house to bring me home. "
Barbara and I and our family would never pass the time when there is a "fire" that burns. But we also found that during the period of crisis that brings us to "come home" because they force us to be more rooted in our faith, crying with absolute depend on God.
Inspiration: make this prayer be your prayer when the bleak future: "Lord God, you know what you're doing! We do not know what that plan, but we believe it to You. "
