O death, where is thy sting? O death, where is your sting? (1 Corinthians 15:55)
A year Bible reading:
Judges 12-14
The Sting of Death - As a child in the village, I once stung by a wasp. Sting sac will be detached and unattached to the body part that stung. It was painful and sometimes swollen for days. Later, I know, it was a wasp sting is not only harmful to the victim, but also for himself. Stinging wasps will die a few minutes later. Before dying, he still looks scary and threatening, but actually, it is not at all dangerous.
When Paul spoke of the resurrection of Christ, he likens death has a stinger. Jesus' death stung to death, but later He rose and conquered death. With a loud, mocking Paul's death that has been helpless. Christ has humiliated him by His resurrection from the dead.
On the day of the crucifixion, his death seems to be the end of everything: a struggle that ended an embarrassing and losing as a loser. However, the resurrection of Christ overturning state. Paul asserts, without the resurrection of Christ, in vain alone our trust in Him. His resurrection showed that God was trustworthy and promise really proven.
Is the risen Christ has emanated from our lives? Does He raised us to be able to serve Him and be a blessing to others? Or, we still live in fear because of the shadow of death that has actually been helpless still threaten us? -HT
Together with the risen Christ, stand up and be a blessing.
