Stress Need

Readings today: 2 Cor. 11: 22-33

I had a lot of toil and hard work; often I do not sleep; I hunger and thirst; often I fasted, cold and without clothes, and, without mentioning other things, the daily, which is to maintain all of the churches. (2 Cor. 11: 22-33)

Stress Need - If we still live in this world we will still experience stress. Today many books and talk shows to discuss the ways to cope with stress. Stress facing mankind today is mostly a stress that should not have happened. They live in a 'fast track' their search for success of earthly satisfaction, life be like being chased, in a hurry. They do not pay attention to the time to rest, to contemplate, let alone to pray. Because the reference worldly success, their life is full of competition, rivalry. They tried to keep the image as someone who is always successful, always successful and they pursue it whatever they have sacrificed.

The Apostle Paul also experienced stress, but he stressed the need. It was due to his desire to be a blessing to the congregation he served. Stress experienced by Paul arising out of a great love for souls who served.

In our service between compatriots, many stressful. How do we have to maintain the security, how do we help those who face the challenges after the believe, how we nurture their faith, helping their daily struggles. Everything that raises its own tension. But the tension, stress that we face is the need to stress, because it arises from a heart that loves souls, stress due to a heart that is willing to serve. Stress is very different from the stress caused only by the need to cater for yourself.

Motivation: What stress do you experience today? If the stress due to a desire for worldly success, make an evaluation for your life. If the stress that you experience because of serving souls, ask for strength from God to bear.
