Life Changes

Today's reading: Romans 12

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so you can distinguish Which God's will: what is good, pleasing to God and perfect. (Romans 12: 2)

Life Changes - Two words that are needed to make the changes in a person so that he becomes a new creature: Recognition and Conversion. Sounds like these two words are heavy and will make us increasingly feel guilty. Actually no. Recognition means to agree with God that what God says is true. Recognition not argue with God about your sins do. Not only said that God is telling the truth and we have done something wrong and contrary to what he says. For example, David, he said, "Against thee, thee only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are fair in your decision turns out, clean the doom" (Psalm 51: 4)

Recognition then leads us to the next step of conversion. Repentance involves change of mindset, not just a change of behavior. Change of mindset is a basic change in behavior. Without a change in mindset change in behavior will not occur. Therefore, it is said, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so you can distinguish Which God's will: what is good, pleasing to God and that is perfect." (Romans 12: 2)

Dr. Bill Bright call this spiritual breathing: Confess the sin - repent and reclaim the Holy Spirit to lead our lives.

Motivation: The changes we have to do continuously, whenever the Holy Spirit convicted us of sin that we do.
