1 Samuel 13: 23-14: 23
Reading today tells the story of King Saul's son Jonathan, along with a footman carrying arms crossed and attacked the Philistines and defeated forces of approximately twenty people. This event turned out to cause great fear in the camp of the Philistines, and among all the people. The situation is very different from those faced by Saul in the previous article in which he and Israel fear of the Philistines.
Jonathan dare to appear different from the boldly crossing to close the Philistine army meanwhile Israeli forces did not dare. What makes Jonathan had the courage to be different? Courage lies in their knowledge of God. He knows that victory in war is not lies in the large number of troops, but on the part of their existing God (verse 6). The attitude of faith possessed by a leader like Jonathan deserves to be an example to us. True faith are fixed on God and His power will enable anyone to do great things that go beyond his strength.
Sometimes we feel shackled by the attitude that makes us more able to focus on yourself and forget about God so that we do not do great things for Him. God has provided all the resources for us to do extraordinary things so that God's name be exalted. The question is whether we will trust in God and want to use all the resources that have availability? Look at how God's work in your life. Believing God to do great things for the glory of His name is better than believing in yourself. Dare also to appear different to live right in the middle of the living world by sin and all pleasures.
Inspiration: The Lord wants us to do great things for Him.
