How could a man selling God? At first blush this seems impossible, but in fact it is not.Someone took off his belief to Jesus in order to get the Office or someone willing to follow his partner moved to trust others. There are many examples of how a Christian is willing to renounce God for the sake of something else. Wouldn't that be called selling God?
King Hezekiah Act similar. He sold God gives to the King of Assyria the entire contents of the House of God, including the Golden door upholstery whittle the Temple of God! A sense of fear to the King of Assyria make it not hesitate doing shameful actions. In those days the Temple of God is a symbol of God's presence in the midst of the people of Israel. What happened to Hezekiah? In verse 5 we saw how Hezekiah said to follow the Lord; but 14 years later (v. 13), it is the fear of Assyria. In fact, God has attached to them to banish the Philistines (v. 8).
Maybe now we are assured and with faith said, "I will not be like Hezekiah! I've been walking with God and obedience. " Consider, at first Hezekiah also obey (vv. 1-8).Through this story, we need to understand that obedience to God is a lifelong journey and required vigilance as long as we live.
