Judah sin and evil people bring judgment upon them. God said that the judgment on the nation of Judah will be implemented through the hands of other nations. Some time later, King Josiah died in battle against the Egyptians, who are under the leadership of Pharaoh Neco (ps. 23:29). Babylon revolt against Assyria makes the political situation more tense. The threat of invasion of Babylon began to haunt the Kingdom of Judah. This condition is getting worse and lead to the destruction of Judah.

In the midst of distress experienced by the people of Judah, God still declare mercy and His grace. Reform of the faith and worship of the nation of Judah conducted by King Josiah made him earn the mercy and grace of God. King Josiah was sorry and humbled themselves before God. He was mourned by tore clothes and cry earnestly to the Lord (v. 19). Sincerity and repentance of King Josiah made the Lord promises that Josiah will not see with his own eyes the destruction of Judah (v. 20).

God hates sin, but He loves the sinner. Mercy and His grace was never stopped flowing, so that our sinful turn from evil and return to Him. When the judgment was in the doorway, he still showed his love and affection to those who earnestly care to respect the His Grace.-SYS
