Then came Jacob close and kissed was his father. When Isaac smelled the clothes Jacob, blessed him, he said: "Surely the smell of my son is as the smell of the desert blessed Lord." (Genesis 27:27)
Reading the Bible in a Year:
Exodus 38-39
Pretend - A woman booked air tickets for himself and his son. Officers ticket seller, who knew this woman, encouraged him to buy one ticket. According to him, the child's little body so it will not get caught if age over 3 years. For a moment she was considering this recommendation while imagining money could be saved. Finally, he decided to keep buying two tickets in accordance with airline regulations.
The incident reminds me of Rebekah, who tells Jacob pretended to be Esau in order to obtain thanks to the eldest son. And Jacob obey his mother. He took his mother's goats to be processed into food that tastes good (v. 14). He was wearing clothes belonging to Esau (v. 15). He pretends to be Esau and provide food and drink for his father (v. 25). Exactly as planned, Isaac could not see it fooled and gave thanks to the firstborn to Jacob (vv. 28 and 29). However, Jacob will have to pay dearly for his good deed with a fugitive for years.
Pretend and be dishonest can indeed bring benefits-money, position, or fame. Perhaps others will not know that dishonesty. But, He is Seer of it know that clearly. Is our conscience can rest easy? Can we live with being chased by feelings of guilt? -NNK
Tell ya, if ya. Say no, if not. No need to pretend.
