Read: Philippians 3:1-16

In fact everything I took a loss, because the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, nobler than everything. Because he is the one I've let go of all that and take it rubbish, that I may gain Christ and in him (Philippians 3:8, 9)

One Year Bible Reading:
Mark 14-16

In 1847, Dr. James Simpson, Scottish physician, pioneered the science for anesthesia with chloroform to put patients who dissected. At the time of his old age, there is a student asked, "what were the Invention of doctors deem most useful during the life of a doctor?" The student thought he was going to mention of chloroform. As it turns out, he replied, "my most valuable Discovery is found that I am a sinner and Jesus Christ is my Savior."

Doctors were in harmony with Paul's attitude, which is considered the most valuable inventions during his life is the knowledge of Christ Jesus. Paul refers to a lifelong relationship with Christ. The emphasis here is not on the knowledge of the facts about Jesus, but are having close relationships with Christ and be inside her.

Paul distinguishes between those who "boast in Christ" and the "put your trust in the things that outwardly". Based on his own experience, he realized how futile put trust in things etc. As the Jews are circumcised and the Pharisees, he carefully comply with every detail of the law. Even he admitted, "about the truth in obeying the law, I am blameless." But, after meeting with Christ, he considers all the accomplishments and achievements of his past as a "trash" because of Christ more precious than all there is.

How do we appreciate the introduction we will Christ? DK
