Jesus the Prince of Peace

"For unto us a child is born to us, a son is given to us; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Great power, and peace will not end, upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, because of it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from now until forever. Zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. "(Isaiah 9: 6-7)

Verses taken from the Book of Isaiah is one of the favorite verses of God's people to celebrate Christmas. We are very glad that the Child born in the sheepfold, and God the Father who gave His Son Single. We also find rest and peace of names that He has namely Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (verse 6). But perhaps most of us continue to wonder, if indeed God is the King of Peace, why the world we live today is very chaotic, unsettled and unstable. Although this verse is actually a prediction about the future kingdom of Christ, but the name of the clothing also describe the reason he's coming and ministry He did on us all today.

The primary responsibility of the Lord Jesus as the Prince of Peace is to reconcile sinful humanity with the Father. Jesus died on the cross to atone for the sins of all mankind so that all who believe in Him have peace in the Lord. (Romans 5: 1). When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior us, our sins are forgiven and we become members of God's family. We are no longer the enemy of God, but we are beloved children.

Jesus not only guarantee our peace with God; He also gives His peace to us (Colossians 3:15). Peace which he hath for us is a sense of calm, tranquility and peace that is always there in our hearts that is not affected by any circumstances we are experiencing and face. A sense of peace that God gives is like a deep sea in a raging storm; Sea level does look very volatile, but at a depth of 100 feet everything is calm and peaceful.

With increasing pressures and busyness, especially before Christmas, we all need a calm and peaceful life, but it seems like it's peaceful condition is often missed by us. The only way we can experience the peace of God is unfathomable is to give all the power to the King of Peace to reign over our lives. When we are under the authority of His power where your heart and mind in harmony with the Word, then the peace of God is incomprehensible that will flow into our hearts and soothe our souls completely.

Are you ready to experience it today?
