Humility: Learn Removing Right

"The humble shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek the LORD will praise him; May you live forever! "Psalm 22:27

David has a tremendous heart. He was known as a man after God. Only two figures mentioned in the Bible as pleasing in the sight of God the Father, that he and the Lord Jesus himself.

Various problems experienced by David and suffering but also always full of victories. The key is in humility that David had. Humility makes us acceptable to God. He sees those who are humble and pour blessings for them.

There are several events that befell him, in which he shows his humility in the problems he faces. Let's look at the story.

"There came a messenger to David, saying:" The men of Israel are with Absalom. "

Then David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem, "Arise, and let us flee; for else none of us will escape from Absalom. Go quickly, lest he overtake us quickly, and bring evil upon us and smite the city with the sword! "" 2 Samuel 15: 13-14

Absalom staged a coup to David who was then sitting as king. As king, David did not use his power, his strength, his mass and all the resources he has to fight, defeat and capture Absalom. David could have won if he used all the power he had at the time. But he would step aside and "give" of Absalom.

See the king away from the city, the priests and the Levites also went with David carrying the ark of God. But he just told them to go back to the city.

"The king said to Zadok:" Take the ark of God back to the city; if I have found favor in the eyes of the Lord, he will bring me back, so I'll see her again, even his place of residence.

But if he should say, 'I am not pleased with you, then I am ready, let him do to me what is good in His eyes.' "2 Samuel 15: 25-26

David did not impose his own will in order to do that he has to continue to be around her. David did not feel that he has the right to carry the ark of God come with him.

David realized that everything that happens is with the permission of God. He even said that if God allowed him back, then he will definitely be back and see the ark of God again. Even he could also say that if God did not allow him to come back, then that is the best God has given him.

It is remarkable attitude shown by David. How many of us have always wanted to impose our will so we did not get what we want. Moreover, if it had been we dreamed about and we long for. Most of us would not want to give up what should be our right. But he teaches us to let go of what's really ours.

It is not easy to let go of what rightfully belongs to us, what should we have and what we should achieve. But there are certain moments that are God allows so we can learn that humility is far more important than everything we want in this world.

Let's look at one more incident shortly after what he experienced at the top.

"When King David came to Bahurim, there came out from there a man of the house of Saul; he named Shimei the son of Gera. As he approached the king, he continually condemned.
David and all of King David threw stones, though all the stars and all the warriors walked on both sides. "2 Samuel 16: 5-6

"Then Abishai son of Zeruiah said to the king:" Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over and cut off his head. "

But the king said, "Why are you, O sons of Zeruiah? If he curses! Because the Lord said to him, 'Curse David, who will ask: why have you done this? "

Then David said to Abishai and to all his servants, "my biological child to take my life, even more so now this Benjaminite! Leave him alone and let him curse, for the Lord has spoken to him.

Perhaps the Lord will notice my affliction and the Lord grant me good instead of his curse today. "" 2 Samuel 16: 9-12

It is amazing the attitude shown by David when someone insults and pelted him with stones. If this is the case at the present time where there are people who are directly insulting the country's leaders and throwing hard objects, we would have been able to imagine what will happen with these people.

But once again he shows that he does not use his power, his position and his right as king to arrest, punish or even kill the soul of the person.

David understood that not everything that happens there is no control of God. All that happens is God's permission.

Let us learn from the humility which is owned by David. We should not harden our hearts if there are things that happen outside our will. Learn to give thanks for any situation going on in our lives. Know that when we are oppressed and we respond with all humility, God will see where we are.

"For thus saith the high and lofty one who sits forever, and His name is Holy:" I dwell in the high and holy place, but also with those who are contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of those who humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. "Isaiah 57:15

Keep our hearts to not react quickly when faced with things we do not want. Have the power of God and His peace to keep pervades our lives. He who is the source of all that is on earth will give us peace and strength to deal with things that are far beyond our power. Just let it go, surrender to God. Hallelujah!

"But the humble shall inherit the land and delight themselves in the abundance." Psalm 37:11
