Servants Who Hear

Then came God, standing there and called as has-been: "Samuel! Samuel! " And Samuel said, "Speak, for thy servant hears." (1 Samuel 3:10)

Servants Who Hear - Why did God create two ears and only one mouth? Isn't this in fact as a sign for humans to hear more than speaking? Hear not simply open ears and let there be sound waves get into the ear. Hear the real process is to understand, understand, and perform. Well, if we listen to the voice of God correctly and faithfully?

Listen to the voice of God correctly and faithfully is not easy but not impossible as well. Samuel small practice to listen to. When a voice call his name, he immediately responded. He was in the process of learning to distinguish where the voice of the Lord and where the human voice. We find the Lord many times calling Samuel. There is God's initiative to say hello Samuel. When Samuel found out that indeed God is being referred to him, he was prepared to listen to and say, "Speak, Lord, thy servant hears." When Samuel heard the voice of God, he understands the will of God for his way of life.

We attend worship services and hear the preaching of the word, but maybe we don't hear the voice of God. We read the Bible, but still also do not hear the voice of God. Let us learn the correct hearing like Samuel. Good God already active greet us first. We, the people, should prepare the ears and hearts always to understand, understand and implement his will. LK.
